What causes pimples?
Acne can occur on the face due to various reasons, such as hormonal changes that usually happen between the ages of 12-25, the menstrual cycle, dust, or lack of nutrients in the body that help prevent acne. Other factors include inflammation, excessive oil production on the face, or bacterial infections.
But what's the process of an acne happening on the face?
What happens is that - when the skin produces an excess of an oily substance called sebum, it gets trapped in the skin and pulls dead skin cells along with it, resulting in a pimple. Now let's look at the tips that'll help prevent pimples on face...
1. Wash Your Face Twice a Day
Whether you work from home or go outside, your face encounters dust and impurities throughout the day. If you don't clean it, the stubborn dust particles can penetrate deep into the skin and cause pimples. That's why it's beneficial to wash the face at least twice a day, once in the morning after waking up and once at night before sleeping to get that perfect beauty sleep.
Beauty sleep refers to the time between 10pm and 2am when skin cells repair themselves. So if your face stays clean, your skin will repair properly and the chances of wrinkles appearing will be reduced.
It's not just at night, it's also important to wash the face in the morning to remove the oil that accumulated overnight.
2. Choose Right Skincare
There are 5 types of skin:
- Oily
- Combination
- Normal
- Dry and
- Sensitive.
Which is why when you apply any product to your face which is not made for your skin type, it reacts adversely and compromises the barriers of your face, increasing the chances of pimples on face, making it look dull and aged. Therefore, always use skincare products that are specifically designed for your skin type. To determine which products will suit your skin, you need to first know what type of skin you have among the above skin types.
Even after you know your skin type, make sure you do a patch test first before using any new skincare products as they may contain certain chemicals that can imbalance the PH Level of your skin. It's also one of the safest ways to know whether the products you're using causing pimples or not.
3. Stay Hydrated
Drinking water every now and then is the easiest way to have a beautiful clear face as water helps flush out any toxins in the body and gives hydration to not only organs but skin cells too. A person must drink at least 2 liters of water everyday but if you're too tired of drinking only water then you could try drinking green tea that does the same work. One of the popular green tea today is "Matcha" that Japanese people drink "Every Single Day" and is considered to be effective to reduce pimples and inflammation in the body.
However, make sure you drink not more than 2 liters of water every day as it can harm the body in other ways.
4. Apply less Makeup on the Face
Save it for when you're going out or for special events, so your face can stay clear and fresh. By following this one step, you can minimize the chances of waking up to unwelcome pimples the next day.
5. Stop Touching the Face All The Time
6. Don't Pop Pimples
Try to clean the face thoroughly with a gentle cleanser and also keep in mind that when you have pimples, you should avoid using any active ingredients on my face, otherwise the situation could worsen.
7. Destress Yourself
Conclusion
Acne is a common occurrence on the face, but when it persists and doesn't go away, taking action to reduce it becomes necessary. While there are many products in the market that claim to reduce pimples, the easy ways I mentioned earlier will also be beneficial if you want to minimize the chances of acne on a budget.
